With the good weather we all want to discover the fresh air trying to get to some of the hidden landscapes of the Balearic Islands.

There are a few transport alternatives the islands offer to get around such as car, bicycle or public transport, but if there is a vehicle that in the Balearic Islands dominates this is the Scooter. It is more and more common that Tourist decide to rent a scooter in Ibiza or Formentera.

Because of the short distances in these islands, it is really easy and quick to get to any point on the island on a scooter and not only enjoy the breathtaking scenery, but also is really easy to find a parking space.There are many routes to follow on a Scooter in Ibiza and Formentera. Here are a couple.

It is true that when traveling by scooter is always very important to take away the most essential things, on the Northern route from Ibiza it is enough with comfortable clothing, a snack and specially swimwear and a camera to capture the beautiful moments you will sure have.

Once we have the scooter ready, we drive from San Antonio on the road to San Rafael, there is a paved road, so there will be no difficulty to arrive to this small town. San Rafael is a city known for its craftsmanship and pottery Commerce, here is our first station where we can also enjoy some tapas and snacks in one of its famous bars.

After visiting the town of San Rafael we continue our journey to Santa Gertrudis, one of the most picturesque villages on the island that never has lost its ibicenco touch for art. You should also have a short break and test some of the typical sandwiches and snacks that they offer on the “plaza” where you can also visit the famous White Church in the village.

After visiting every angle of Santa Gertrudis we can get back on our scooter and follow the northern road to San Miguel. This is one of the most magical places on the island, that no one should ignore, perhaps one of Ibiza’s most beautiful villages situated in the north of the island. San Miguel is located on a hill and is crowned by the church that was built on the top. If our journey is on a Thursday afternoon you can enjoy the market of handmade wares in the middle of the church yard. This market is definitely worth a visit if you are in vacation on the island.

With our rented scooter in Ibiza we continue our journey to Sant Mateu, which is maybe the smallest town in the Balearic Islands, and although there are not many spectacular sights, it is worthwhile to simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the streets. We continue our course to Santa Ines getting enchanted by vineyards, almond and orange trees, as we get closer to the small entrance of the village where the Bar “Es Pla de Corona” is a perfect place for a coffee break in the afternoon and has a amazing view of the valley.

After we have met all these villages and the sun slowly goes down, we can not overlook Cala Salada, one of the most spectacular areas of the island, where we can watch the beautiful sunset, with a splendid view of the cliffs. This is just one of many routes Ibiza has to offer but there are so many options that you will never get tired of moving with a scooter on these routes.

The scooter rental in Formentera, allows us to explore the island in a much more convenient way. Among the many possibilities that Formentera has to offer there are three that we can not ignore, and what is a better way than this to go on a scooter. These three ways are the Camino de Sa Pujada, which borders directly on the cliffs and at the same time connects the Calo of San Agustin and La Mola. This is one of the most popular ways, from here you have stunning views, and you can also see more caves and remains of paving stones.

Among other , one of the most popular routes around Formentera, is the Camí of Ram, where you can admire the spectacular scenery and the fishing scene of the island. This is a very nice way right from the beginning, with deciduous trees right down to to the sea which surprises with the beautiful coast.

Finally we come to the Cami de Torrent funds in the plateau of La Mola, one of the most popular hiking trails on the island, leading us to one of the most important lighthouses, the Moli Vell de la Mola. Around Formentera we can enjoy almost 2,500 meter routes of small adventure on our Scooter.

How to book a rental car

Read the Rental contract well before signing anything.

You must meet the minimum requirements. These are the minimum age of 21 years and a driving experience of 1 year. In some cases, the minimum age are 25. years

Insurance is very important check the contract which is included and is that good enough for you.

Please make sure that the deposit is full, if the case is not inform them about these so that they will not be imposed upon the return the car with a full deposit.

Write down the number of the backup in case of a accident keep on and focusing them on an easily-to-find place in case you need them.

And finally, be made even if it sounds a bit excesive take pictures of the car before you starts to drive to avoid that they make you responsible for damages incurreds.

Return of the car:

Before you return car, you should still look under the seats, carpets, in the trunk, the glove compartment door and look that you haven’t forgotten anything.

Find out if the rental company have other offices, maybe in the city or outside of them. And if this so whether you can bring back the car in a diferent one, but before you have to contact the owner and ask him that he is agree with this.

The key that can happen often that we mix the car keys with our owns, so pleas check this well before returning the car.Don´t trust that the rental company notes that it has taken more keys and return them inmedatly, the possibilty is very high, that you have to contact the responsible Person and must wait for them taht they send you the keys back by mail.

Also an important point, before returning the car you should make sure you have removed all Personal Documents from the car, including the Rental contract. Since it is assumed that is possible at the time of returning, the car go directly run by a different customer. and it is not advisable that your Personal Documents stay in the car why this papers contain information about your identity.

When you bring the car back you have to inform the company about any damage. Do not believe that when you say nothing about the damages could save some money because they would you be able to take legal problems after the fact, and the most important Besides others that you should remember that many other people (families and groups of friends) already waiting for the car even as you also want to enjoy a great holiday.

Finally, the rental company will give you an exhibitor ticket when you pay the rental car, this should including the miles they drove, proof of payment and all your personal information and the information about the rental car.
